Terms of Service

Draft for review. This text describes how ThreeDView is designed to work, but it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Highlighted items in brackets still need the company's details.

The short version: your models stay yours, you only upload what you have the right to share, downloads follow each model's licence, and paid features like embeds work while your plan is active.

1. Who we are

ThreeDView is operated by [Company legal name], [registered address] (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us about your use of ThreeDView, including the website, the 3D viewer and the embed service.

2. Your account

You can browse and view models without an account. To upload, like, follow or embed, you need one. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that's higher.

Keep your login details private: you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away at support@threedview.dev if you think someone else has access.

3. Your models and the licence you give us

You keep ownership of everything you upload: models, textures, thumbnails and descriptions. To run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, convert, display and deliver your content, including generating previews and optimised versions, and showing it in embeds you create.

This licence covers only what's needed to operate and promote ThreeDView (for example, featuring a public model on the homepage). It ends when you delete the content, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that others have already downloaded under the licence you chose.

You confirm that you own your uploads or have permission to share them, and that they don't break these terms.

4. Model licences and downloads

Each model shows the licence its creator chose, such as CC0 or CC BY. When a creator allows downloads, anyone who downloads the model may use it only as that licence allows, including giving credit where it's required.

Viewing a model in the browser or in an embed doesn't give you any right to extract, copy or redistribute it.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use ThreeDView to:

  • upload content you don't have the rights to, or that infringes someone's intellectual property;
  • upload illegal content, sexual content involving minors, or content that promotes violence or harassment;
  • upload files designed to harm devices, such as malware or files crafted to crash the viewer;
  • scrape, bulk-download or extract models you're not licensed to download;
  • get around plan limits, security measures or embed restrictions;
  • impersonate another person or creator.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. Paid plans, billing and cancellation

Pro and Team are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance. Prices are shown on the pricing page before you pay, and your plan renews automatically until you cancel.

You can cancel any time in Settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and doesn't renew after that. If a renewal payment fails and isn't resolved, your plan expires. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren't refunded for partial periods.

7. Embeds

On Pro and Team you can embed your own models on other websites. Embeds are served by ThreeDView and work only while your plan is active. When a plan ends or expires, embedded copies show an “unavailable” message instead of the model; they work again if you renew.

You're responsible for where you place your embeds. We may disable an embed that is used to break these terms.

9. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or a safety concern prevents it.

10. Disclaimers and liability

We work hard to keep ThreeDView available and your files safe, but the service is provided “as is”. Keep your own backups of your models.

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before material changes take effect. If you keep using ThreeDView after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can close your account.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts there, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms: legal@threedview.dev, or use our contact page.
