Draft for review. This text describes how ThreeDView is designed to work, but it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Highlighted items in brackets still need the company's details.

We collect what we need to run your account and show your work, keep it safe, and never sell it. Here's the detail.

1. Who's responsible for your data

[Company legal name], [registered address], is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at privacy@threedview.dev.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: your name, username, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and anything you add to your profile, such as a bio, location, website, photo and cover.
  • Your content: the models, textures, thumbnails, titles, descriptions and tags you upload, and collections you create.
  • Activity: likes, follows, and settings such as notification choices.
  • Billing: your plan, billing history and the last four digits of your card. Full card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and logs of requests, including requests to your embeds, which we use to keep the service secure and working.

3. How we use it

  • to run your account and show your public profile and models (to perform our contract with you);
  • to process payments and check whether your plan includes features like embeds (contract);
  • to keep ThreeDView secure and prevent abuse (our legitimate interests);
  • to send account and security emails, and other emails you've chosen in Settings (contract and consent);
  • to meet legal obligations, such as tax records.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

4. What's public

Your profile, public models, collections and follower counts are visible to everyone, including people who aren't logged in and sites where you've placed embeds. Unlisted models are visible to anyone with the link; private models only to you. Your email address is never shown publicly.

5. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us run ThreeDView, under contracts that protect it:

  • hosting and file storage, including a content delivery network for fast model loading;
  • our payment provider, [payment provider];
  • our email provider, for account and notification emails.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect people's safety.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and content within 30 days, apart from backups (removed within 90 days) and records we must keep by law, such as invoices.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings; for anything else, email privacy@threedview.dev. We reply within 30 days.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies and browser storage

We only store what's needed to keep you logged in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where they do, we use recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Children

ThreeDView isn't for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
